About Anna-Marie
Anna-Marie Nuila-Chae has a BA in Business Economics, emphasis in accounting and a minor in Spanish from the University California, Santa Barbara. She also is a Certified Research Administrator.
She started her career working in the California Nano Systems Institute at University California, Santa Barbara in 2007-2010 as a student before accepting a full-time position upon graduation. In 2013 she moved to Chicago and joined the University of Chicago Biological Sciences Division where she worked in the Department of Medicine. Originally a Financial Coordinator, she later transitioned to a role as a Pre-Award Manager for Dermatology, General Medicine, and a portion of Hematology/Oncology. She later transferred to the Center for Data Intensive Science (later renamed to Center for Translational Data Science) to manage the Genomic Data Commons (GDC) contract as well as work in the center in a pre and post award role. At the end of 2016 Anna-Marie moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and took a break in her career to start a family. In 2020 she returned to the University of Chicago working remotely in the Center for Translational Data Science and continued contract and financial management of the GDC. She worked as the Financial Team Lead for the Center in pre and post award for almost 5 years. In January 2025, she transitioned to the Physical Sciences Local Business Center with Chemistry.
Anna-Marie currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her husband and two young sons. She has two cats-Cocoa (Puff) and Cinnamon (Toast Crunch) and enjoys knitting, quilting, gardening, and baking in her free time.
